Glenda L. Kaminski, Ph.D., RN, Celebrated for Dedication to the Healthcare Industry

LAKELAND, FL, December 30, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Glenda L. Kaminski, Ph.D., RN, Advanced Practice Specialist in the Oncology Division of Lakeland Regional Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in hematology & oncology infusion therapy.

"Perseverance pays off; when you want something badly enough, you work hard toward your dreams to achieve them," said Glenda L. Kaminski, Advanced Practice Specialist at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Dr. Kaminski is a living tribute to this adage, having risen to the forefront of oncology and infusion therapy medicine as a registered nurse with a Ph.D. in nursing from Barry University. Dr. Kaminski has been a dedicated professional in the healthcare industry for well over two decades - a recognized authority in her field of expertise, she is responsible for consulting with patients with complex health issues relating to various cancer diagnoses and educating the staff of Lakeland Regional on cancer treatments and technologies.

Additionally, Dr. Kaminski serves as a nursing faculty member at Florida Southern College, where she is able to share her passion for her profession as an assistant professor. Prior to obtaining her current posts, she worked at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, Florida from 1986 to 1992. She holds a master of nursing in oncology from the University of South Florida and a bachelor of science in education from Shippensburg University. She is both a certified infusion registered nurse and an advanced oncology certified nurse. She attributes her success to the knowledge and opportunities with which she has been afforded throughout her life.

Dr. Kaminski is a professional affiliate of the Oncology Nursing Society, Infusion Nurses Society and Sigma Theta Tau International. She maintains involvement with a number of charitable organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Inc., which presented her with the Volunteer Hope Award and the Nurse of Hope Award, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
